System Configuration Utility opens every time

No matter how much I check the relevant box, the System Configuration Utility
(SCU) window opens every time I start up the computer (or start Windows,
rather). this happened after (I am pretty sure) I installed SP2 for my Win
XP Home, and I started Windows in SCU's "Selective Startup". Before I
closed Windows, I checked "Normal Startup", and it "took", but SCU still
opens every time.

Could someone suggest something to do to resolve this.

Hi, i had the same problem untill i realised i was also running a program
called start-up faster 2004, and it was in the start up sequence of this.
Once removed from here i had no problems and it hasn`t appeared since.
