Remove One of 2 XP Installation

In trying to repair a problem, I re-installed XP Professional. Now I have 2
XP Professional programs that appear on screen during logon. How do I
delete the one that I don't need

Remove this installation from the BOOT.INI file. See "How to Edit the
BOOT.INI File in Windows XP"
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=289022).
Restart. The Windows installation that you want to keep should start
automatically. Now you can delete the useless files from the HDD.
