XP re-installation.

By re-installing XP from original cd i receive message : "The file asms on
win xp professional service pack 2 cd is needed".
Have checked for its (asms) presence on cd , OK !

Further on : "State the seek-way to the file and click ok ".

In window below a text appear : Globalroot\device\cdRomon I386

What ever i try or do it wount work and the installation is not compleeted .
How to proceed and finnish the installation ?

Please help !

Are you attempting a clean install or a repair install?

could be RAM problems. Try swapping out sticks if you have more than one
module.

Hello again "Nepatsfan".
It did work with the method (linked info) as you suggested , up to 100% !
Used the "Hard disc formatted NTFS file system" method 1.

I am a verry happy soul again , thanks a lot for the help !
Will remember your "name" , have a nice life !
