Remove Office 2000 from XP

When I try to remove or reinstall Office 2000 Premium
(disk 1 or 2)from XP I get an error message that says:
"This Patch Package could not be opened,
verify that the patch package exists and that
you can access it."
I've tried to remove it from Control Panel,
and tried to do a reinstall from the CD,
The CD won't open, it gives the same error
message.
I moved my XP to another partition on
the hard drive and the problem started.
I have Office 2000 and ME on the C drive
and it works fine.
Sorry for the post to the XP group, but
couldn't find a general office group.
TIA,
Tom

How did you move Windows XP to another partition? It is acting like
Windows has a different drive letter than when Office was installed and
it can't find files.

Leonard,
Thanks for the reply, I think you are correct, it is
looking for a different drive letter.
I used Partition Magic to create a new partition and
then moved what was the "D" drive to the new "H"
drive, I used the function in Partition Magic to copy
the drive then formated the old "D" drive and reinstalled
XP.
The partition I am having the problem with is "H"
I can boot to it, but I can't get Office to open.
Thanks again,
Tom

I don't know how to correct this as there are lots and lots of settings
for Office in the registry. It seems that Partition Magic missed one or
more of them. Sounds like it is impacting the Windows Installer portion
so Office can't even repair itself.
