Remove Norton AntiSpam Plugin

D

Don Forrester

I have Norton Internet Security(NIS)2004 and Outlook XP (2002 SP3) and
Windowes XP SP1.

I now use InBoxer, which is much better for sorting spam then Norton. I have
turned Norton Antispam 'off' in NIS. I have also tried to remove the Norton
Toolbar in Outlook by Tools > Options > Other > Advanced options> Com
Add-ins...> Remove Norton AntiSpam Outlook Plugin > OK etc and also View >
Toolbars > Customize... > Delete Norton AntiSpam Outlook Plugin.

However, next time I open Outlook the Norton AntiSpam task bar reappears. Is
there any way of getting rid of this permanently, as it takes quite a long
time to load.

Hi:

I have the same problem and Symantec cannot offer a solution.

Please also share if you have received any solutions.

Thanks.

Thanks,

Norton AntiSpam Outlook Plugin does not appear in add-in manager. All that
appears there is 'Exchange Extensions propery pages', with a tick box next
to it and an 'Install' button.
Can you help me an further?

Hmmm - how about in the COM add-ins button? Anything there?

Yes. it is in the COM Add-in and it will come back again after removing it.

The only time it will work without coming back is waiting for Outlook to
crash and then it will ask to disable it the next time it restarted.

Obviously, it is not a correct solution.

Can you uinstall it in Add/Remove programs? You may be able to uininstall
just that component.

No, it doesn't appear in Add/Remove programs. Only the whole program Norton
internet Security appears there.

Yes, I know - just wondering if you select *that*, do you get the option to
remove/uninstall particular components of it? Check Symantec's support site
(such as it is) for more info).
