Hi all,

i have a backup drive running USB on my Laptop, win xp home edition. I
can't get rid of the "safely remove hardware" icon on the bottom right, and
I'm tired of it.

thanks ;)

HIDE it. Right-click START|TASKBAR tab|CUSTOMIZE

Its suppose be there by design there. Specially when your
using USB Hard Drives. makesure you don't loose data that
is waiting to write to the hard disk if you have to disco
the drive and prevents damage.

that leaves me with a little tab/arrow that i can click on to look at what's
hidden. it's not really "hidden".

i'm looking for a permanent answer to the dilemma

thanks for your quick response though. much appreciated
