I have a Windows XP SP2 machine that is configured as part of a Workgroup.
How can i remove it from the Workgroup without joining a Domain - that is
have both the Domain and WorkGroup names blank.
Thanks in advance

Thanks Mark but this does not fix the problem.
The problem is that my sons computer will not connect to the Boarding School
Network, and the only thing that we can come up with that is different to
the computers that will work, is that they are blank in both Network Domain
and Workgroup, but one can not save if both are blank once something is in
the Workgroup Field.
When i connect his computer to my small Domain at home it finds the server
and gets its tcp/ip settings automatically. But not at school - so we are
groping in the dark a bit! The others just plug in and get assigned tcp/ip
settings and can see the internet and this is what we are trying to do.
