I have 2 machines on Win XP SP3, I love XP in many ways. However access permissions drive me crazy. Once Adobe reader could not install, (Err 1317) etc. I simply wish to live without the access/security/whatever. I used "CACLS" the other day to clear the deck, I apparently misused it.
Can someone please advise me just how, as sole user on the 2 linked machines, I can have access with the least access problems. The present setup is as myself as Administrator, no password access required. This location is secure.
Please do not suggest upgrading to 7, I am not about to have to upgrade most of my software, printers, etc.
Thankyou,
David

If XP's access permissions dive you nuts, Vista and Win 7 would drive you completely bananas :)

Sorry, can't help.

I will say though, that Adobe Reader is a bit rubbish and resource hungry.

Foxit is a much better choice for PDF reader (just be sure to untick the toolbar options on installation).
