One of our domain controllers broke down and I can't
delete the active directory object from the Domain
Controllers container. I tried to move the object from
Domain Controllers to Computers but was unable to do so.
Does anyone know how I can remove the object from AD?

Thanks.

Chris,

Using ntdsutil and metadata cleanup you should be able to get rid of the
system that died. I don't have the article handy, but if you search
microsoft you should easily find documentation on how to do so.

And do not forget about adsiedit and cleaning up DNS, not to mention
removing the object from ADSS MMC.
