Remove all references to a DC that no longer exists

I had a 2nd domain controller that suffered a hardware problem
so I physically removed it from the domain without running
dcpromo to uninstall the Active Directory.

That server no longer exists.

Understandably 'dcdiag' now reports errors, particularly replication
problems.

How do I remove/clean out all references to that server in AD?

I've searched the KB and online help but couldnt find
an answer.

I'm running Win2003 servers only btw.

Thanks Herb.

The KB article was confusing but I think I completed
the steps successfully (I hope).

A simple scenario example with diagram and screen shots
would have been nice, but I suppose thats how Mark Minasi makes his money.
