removing non-existent DC with NTDSUtil

Hi,
I would like to clean up Active Directory and remove a non-existent DC from
Active Directory.
Can you tell me if there are any potential problems with runniing NTDSUtil
to clean up and remove the "missing" server? Or am I better off leaving those
references there?
I noticed the following when running DCDiag on the existing domain
controllers referring to the "missing" DC.
Warning: Srv4 is the Infrastructure Update Owner, but is not responding to
DS RPC Bind.
[Srvr4] LDAP search failed with error 58,
The specified server cannot perform the requested operation..
Warning: Srvr4 is the Infrastructure Update Owner, but is not
responding to LDAP Bind.
......................... Srvr1 failed test KnowsOfRoleHolders
Can you tell me if I remove Srvr4 from AD through NTDSUtil, will Srvr1
(Primary AD server) automatically take the roll of Infrastructure Update
Owner?
Thanks much,

Robert

You first need to sieze any FMSO roles that that server had. Then you can
safely remove it from the domain.
