Remove a Duplicate Personal Folders file (beyond the KB articles)

I have two secondary Personal Folders files that were acquired on a new
Outlook installation as I migrated my previous Outlook.pst file into OUtlook
2003. When I try remove them as explained in a couple of Outlook Help
articles, I get the message "The operation failed. The object could not be
found" once I press the Advanced button on the Properties window.

No matter what I try, the two extra Personal Folders show the same Inbox,
Calendar, Contacts, etc. as the primary but they appear to really point to no
real file.

I have tried to remove Outlook and reinstall it but the profile was
remembered and I had the same result each time.

Does anybody have a suggestion?
