removal of SP4

I had a client install 2000 SP4 but they didn't archive
the files for easy removal. Now they're having an issue
with a backup device which was working fine before SP4. I
need to remove SP4 and troubleshoot from there. Can
anyone point me to a KB article with step by step
procedures for this? Thanks.

Go to the conyrol panel and scroll down to sp4
installation, use add remove and this may require a reboot.

try a repair install by booting from CD and following the repair
install process... this should return it all to the original CD
version.

I think that is my only option at this point Steve.
Hopefully I can get them back to SP1 and then up to SP3
where they were and working fine. Thanks!

Greetings --

Simply boot from the Win2K installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and/or format the system partition as
part of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the
order of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
