My cousin's computer he got from a friend that was connected to an Exchange
server, but now it is not. He is unable to remove the Exchange account due to
this popup: "Your MS Exchange server is unavailable. [click Ok, Cancel, or
Retry] When he clicks 'Ok': Unable to open the default email folders. Your
profile is not configured." My question is how to remove the Exchange
profile from his computer without having to reinstall Outlook?

Open Control Panel and run the Mail applet. Click Show Profiles, select the
profile, and click Properties. Remove the Exchange service.

Outlook 2000 and have already tried to remove the Exchange account. Thinking
that this might be a Local policy or something like that, but unfortunately I
have not been physically at the machine to really take a look at it.

Scroll to the properties of Outlook and show all profiles. Remove the profile
attached to the Exchange server.
