remote share logging on/off

If I log onto a remote shared folder as User A, how can I log off and
log back on as User B? The only way I have found so far is to log off
my local machine and log back on again. That is a pain in the butt. I
am testing user security permissions.

WHen you create the mapped drive, you can offer alternate credentials. Or
you can use the runas feature, if Win2k or newer. There's an example of the
syntax for the runas command in this article:

More info on Runas:

Are you saying I cannot do this by using a network shortcut? If a mapped
drive is used how do you offer different credentials? The RunAs command
appears to work only through the command line or can a shortcut be created?

I apologize for asking, but did you read those articles? You can do it with
a shortcut. Did you try it? Article 303308 shows you the syntax so you can
create the shortcut using the runas. You can also type in runas /? in a cmd
prompt to see the syntax. Article 294676 shows you how you can rt-click on
the shortcut while holding down shift and giving it the alternate
credentials. When you map a drive, click on 'use a different username and
give it the credentials.
