remote server cannot be established

hi everyone
i seem to have a very popular problem.
many times when i accept an invitation for remote assistance i get an error
message stating
"remote assistance could not be established because the remote host name
could not be resolved"
what do i do?
from research i picked up something about changing ip address from public to
private. stumped about that.
any help is greatly appreciated.
im pretty much sure that the problem is only when the invitations are sent
from computers using a router.
