Remote install on server 2003

I've just been given a 2003 server, and told to work out how to get it to
remote-install the XPe images onto our targets. I assumed that the Remote
Boot Setup on the XPe install CD would be the thing I wanted. My boss
insisted I use 2003 rather than 2000 as my predecessor here has apparently
told him that remote boot only works properly from server 2003, however when
trying to install it I get:

The version of the Remote Boot installer will not work on PRE-RELEASE
versions of .NET Server. Please check the release notes for more
information on how to download a version of this installer that will work on
the RELEASED version of .NET Server

Is it just my imagination, or does this error message make no sense
whatsoever? I have searched on microsoft.com for the Remote Boot Setup
Wizard mentioned in the release notes, and found nothing to download. Has
the IT department given me some weird version of server 2003 (because this
would explain how much hassle I've had with the machine)? Or should I just
be advising the boss that my predecessor is wrong and I need 2000 Server?
