When I try to use remote desktop I get the following error
message:

The client could not connect. You are already connected to
the console of this computer. A new console session can
not be established.

I am using XP Pro on my laptop. The second PC is on my
network also running XP Pro.

Hi Mark,

That error code usually indicates that you're trying to remote desktop to
the PC that you're currently using from the console. Is it possible that
you're trying to connect to the wrong PC? One way to double-check is to run
ipconfig and connect directly to the IP address of your second PC.
