Remote Desktop

Looking to go from XP to Vista and settled on Home Premium except I read
that home premium doesn't have remote desktop where the ultimate does. I
use a webvpn to connect to work then use a remote desktop to connect to a
cotrix box and need it. Do I need to go all the way to Ultimate just for
this or can a connection still be completed in home premium? If not, are
there third party replacements? Thanks!

Vista Business is an option, however, if you want to Media Center
functionality then Ultimate is your only choice.

Hello,

You can use any edition of Windows Vista to connect TO ANOTHER COMPUTER
using Remote Desktop.

However, you must have Vista Business or Ultimate in order to allow other
computers to connect to YOUR COMPUTER using Remote Desktop.

So, if you chose Vista Home Premium, you will be able to remote desktop to a
computer at work from your home premium machine, but you WILL NOT be able to
remote desktop to your home premium computer FROM WORK.

Geez, are you serious ??? Home premium is supposed to be the equivalent of
MCE 2005, so I will have to to pay $200 or $100 more, (full or upgrade
version) just to be able to connect my computer. This function is available
for free MCE 2005.

I was thinking to upgrade to Vista, but this may refrain me to do so, as
many other ones...
