Dooh!

On one of my XP machines when I try and connect remotely it is rebooting the
pc. I am able to connect and put in user name and pw, but as soon as I do
that my machine reboots. Any idea why? GPO is default.
 
By default, Windows XP set to "Automatically Restart" on "System Failure".
You can try to stop this behavior and see if this one helps:

Right-Click on My Computer, choose Properties
Click the Advanced tab and under Startup and Recovery click Settings
here uncheck "Automatically Restart" in "System Failure" events.
