I'm having difficulties getting access to my Windows XP Pro machine from a remote computer. I've followed all the steps outlined in Microsoft documentation, and still the remote PC can't find my XP. It should be easy. Can anyone who has been through this successfully offer suggestions? I have a D-Link router with firewall, and have followed their directions to open port 3389. I've disabled my software firewall. I have enabled Remote Desktop on the XP and have installed Remote Desktop Communications Client on the client PC. No go.
