Remote Desktop suddenly blocks for no apparent reason

Hello,

On two machines, running two different (legal!) versions of Windows XP I've
now had the exact same problem with remote desktop.
When trying to Remote Desktop to any server, the connection just blocks and
I can't connect to anything.

I've tried EVERYTHING. It's not because I'm behind a router - I can't
connect no matter where I'm physically at, even if other computers can. (One
PC is a laptop)

It's not the Windows Firewall - Remote Desktop has it's exception there, and
I have no other firewall installed.

I suspect it has something to do with some XP update. The last time I
reinstalled XP on my laptop, Remote Desktop worked for a while. Then,
suddenly, not.

I'm totally stumped here. Any idea would be more than welcomed.

I'm having a similar issue. I just received a new PC with all the new
software on it only it was never able to connect to 1/2 of my servers due to
an "error in the licensing protocol", which is BS as all my other PC's can
connect to all servers without issue. Do you have any other servers you can
connect to to see if it's only confined to a few and not others?

If you receive a fix to this issue, please let me know. My question has
been up for a couple of days and I have had zero responses. At least the
other forums I posted to tried to help!
