Remote Desktop printing w/HP Deskjet 6980

John

I have been using Remote Desktop for a few years with no problems. I
recently added an HP Deskjet 6980 to my home network and it works
fine. When I use RDP to connect to my office, remote printing back to
the 6980 is not available. My other printers at home are seen, but the
6980 is not. I assume it is because the 6980 is connected to my
network with an IP address and not through a USB or parallel cable. It
is however, setup as my default printer.

Do I need to install the 6980 printer driver on my office pc even
though the printer is here at home? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
John

Installing the driver on your office PC may help. I would also try
to share the printer, then link it to LPT1:. Have a look here too:

Thank you! Installing the driver on the remote pc made the printer
available during the session.

Thank you for the help!

Thanks for the feedback.
