remote desktop client slows down after first use

Hi,
I use remote desktop from my Windows XP (Home Edition) PC to connect to my
office PC also running Windows XP Pro. I use a high-speed broadband
connection. When I login to my office PC first thing in the morning,
everything appears to be fine - the speed is good and comfortable. Once I
logout or disconnect or login later in the day or the week, the speed is
abominably slow and practically unusable. Could anybody tell me what goes
wrong after the first connection? Is there any cache to be cleaned up or any
other known issue?

Thanks

It could be network traffic at the office (depending on how large the office
is) or their connection to the internet that may be slowing down. Or your
work computer you're desktopping to could be running slow and could probably
use a reboot. You may have spyware on one or both of the computers that's
slowing down the communication and overall processing.

I'd run Ad-Aware or Spy Bot and check results on both computers in addition
to running a virus scan.

HTH
