Remote desktop and VPN

Guest

I have 2 computers (a laptop and a desktop) connected to my router at home.

a. I connect my laptop to my corporate VPN. The laptop obtains a new IP
address.
b. The desktop is connected to my local router and has an IP address of
192.168.x.x

I want to Remote desktop from my desktop to my laptop. Is this possible?

Thanks
Suresh

can they ping each other? I am assuming the corporate IT may disable home network between those computers.

If you can...

Ping the laptop through the VPN tunnel *AND* the laptop is running XP Pro
with Remote Desktop enabled then you should be able to connect from the
desktop to the laptop...

No, I am not able to ping the laptop from the desktop. I guess the VPN
disables the local LAN access.

Man, I must be getting old...

I completely misread that post and thought he was trying to access his laptop from a work desktop through the VPN tunnel...

Oh well...:)
