I setup of three machines to use the "in house"
connect dialog and now I realize what was not made clear on many web site
instructions. That is that there are two different remote desktop scenarios.
One is for "in house" remote and the other is for outside the network
remote. I was using the outside approach and it had been working. I was
using it for in house too, i.e. typing the ip address of the main computer.
Now I can get to my main computer from my other computers, but I still can't
connect using the ip address as I once did until the ip address changed. I
tried turning off my firewall and that didn't work.

Since the "in-house" is working would it make sense to uninstall remote and
reinstall it to see if I can get the ip function working again?

Check to make sure that your WAN/ISP address for your connection
hasn't changed...
