Remote Assistance?

This may exist only on Win XP Pro. In the System Properties panel on the
Remote tab, I found "Allow Remote Assistance invitations to be sent from
this computer" to be checked.

Do I need this checked? I feel that it may be a security issue. Should I
be concerned that it was checked?

Thanks.

If you never intend to request help via Remote Assistance then you can
uncheck the option box. However, even if a Remote Ticket was done
for your PC you have to manually grant the "Guest" access to your PC
when the RA ticket is opened. Besides, if you have any NAT equipment
it's likely that Port 3389 is blocked and RA wouldn't work unless that
is opened for access.
