remote assistance.

i am connected to my mates comp in remote assistance but i cannot get the
'take control' to show, therefore i have screen view mode only.

how do i get control of the other persons computer?

p.s it is enabled in the remote settings of system properties.
 
p.s, is it because his e mail address is not verified in windows messenger?
