Remote Assistance without prompting users?

I know remote desktop can be used however it does not allow me into user's
logged on session.

Say I want to remote control user's session without prompting the user and
having him/her clicking on "Yes", is there a way? (e.g. registry hack?)

Thanks,

No, the novice must positively acknowledge the request to both view and
control the desktop by the expert. That is a security measure.

Hmm... I guess I'm better off using SMS remote control and do the registry
hack.

Thanks.

How do I keep SMS users from viewing and remoting my mouse?

Here at work on our network this one guy all he does without prompting me
moves my mouse.

No rootkits or any malware is involved... just a clean install of windows
and antivirus
and SMS is installed. The only way I keep him off is pulling out my cat 5
wire in the back. I think for real securioty reasons any and all remote
features in SMS should be like that of the remote desktop and prompt user if
they allow remote to view desktop or take control. of PC..... THink I
better start googling how hack the registry part of SMS to keep evil admis
who think they are cute moving my mouse when i never gave permission in the
first place.....

Grrrrr MVP's out there help me if you can short of getting the guy fired
which is the last option.

Yes it could be a double-edged sword. Though believe me it's great having
the capability of remoting to servers/workstations when no one is there on
the other end to grant access.

Now whether your SMS admins abuse this capability is another story. I would
recommend some type of policy be established around remote access without
consent and make sure the SMS admin act in an ethical / responsible manner.

Remote Desktop allows you to "... remote to servers/workstations when no one
is there on the other end to grant access ..."

The difference is you (itrcb4) want to remote into the remote computer *as
the user who is loggged in at the time*.

On servers - this is usually unnecessary (and possible by specifying
sessions anyway). On workstations, this is usually only needed when showing
the user (remote assistance) something - and they shjould be there when you
show them. =)
