remote assistance confusion

I have used remote assistance with great success with one other computer , I
was able to connect to that computer and take controll of it and do general
maintance (clean disk , defrag , delete icons and check or change appearance
and performance settings . I never messed with the Reg.
Then , after turning off all services for Macafee (firewalls, virus,
mallware, scheduled tasks) , because I was planing on getting rid of it , we
terminated the connection and rebooted the controled computer .
Since that time , we have been unable to reestablish a connection, useing
Messanger or email , and there is no responce or decleration of expiration of
time that always comes after a few seconds have passed and the intended
reciever of said invite sees no indicataion of what's going on .
 
I would have the user try to toggle off the firewall setting that allows R.A.
, restart, then on again.
