Remote Assistance and Zone Alarm

I have been using remote assistance to help a friend who has the free
ZoneAlarm firewall on their PC (Win XP home). This has been working fine
for ages because my IP address is logged in ZA as trusted.

Tried to help someone else today and found I couldn't connect unless ZA was
disabled on the target computer. Checked my correct IP address was on her
trusted list and it was...

So I thought I'd connect to the computer I've connected to loads of times
and check what ZA settings are required. But I now have the same problem
there as well. On the computer which I normally connect to, there will have
been no ZA setting changes - the only things to have happened on that
computer are windows updates (but not SP2 yet).

Anyone any ideas on this??

Even though you are trusted, ZA may be blocking a port or something else
that requires access. You should check the ZA logs, see what is blocked or
check any messages from ZA when you attempt access.

Many thanks Michael - looked at the log and when you highlight the blocked
entry, there is an 'add' button and you just add to the trusted zone and it
all worked fine after that.

Thanks again.
