Remote Assisatance Cannot Connect - Vista to Vista

I am trying to use remote assistance. Both PC's are running Vista, I get the
invite, I am told the password however when we try to connect the message
comes back "Remote assistance cannot make the connection. The person you are
trying t help might have closed Remote Assistance."

I can confirm neither of us closed remote connection and we have disabled
all firewalls. We are using broadband connections with a min speed of 256K.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a novice

you are behind routers?

and routers create such problems

google for a small program called hamachi that is free
it will create a virtual network between you and the other person..
then use the ip address that hamachi creates to connect

Thanks S2ie, I'll download hamachi.

Only I (the viewer) am behind a router. What about the person I am wanting
to assist? They are using a DLink adsl modem.

I appreciate your help.
