I work for a company that has a large Lan. I was having trouble with a
desktop and called our helpdesk. He asked for the IP address and within
seconds, he was logged in remotely operating my desktop.

How can this be done???

Desktop is a Win 2000 Pro. When I am connected through VPN to the Lan, I
can ping the desktop's IP.

Any suggestions??

It is likely that some form of VNC is being used at your work.

help me out......VNC???
what is it? Treat me like an idiot and explain it all to me.
Thanks
