Remote access connection manager

Hi Sir

Understand that Remote access connection manager service
is Manual as start_type and is started everytime Win2k OS
is running.

Questions -

1. I've the similar Win2k build for all Win2k servers, but
Remote access manager service is started for some servers,
and stopped for some. The startup type is manual for all
servers ? Is this normal behaviour ? Why ?

2. Is it true that Remote connection manager service can't
be stopped while OS is running ?

3. In some of my servers where Remote access connection
manager is not started, the service can be manually
started and stopped while OS is running ? Is that normal ?
Why ?

Anything I can check to verify why is this happening ? Any
service depends on Remote access connection manager that
doesn't let the RASMAN service automatically start but it
can be manually start and stop ??

Unless somebody has actually started off the service it should not start
if the start type is manual.
Check to see if there is dependency on this service by any other service. In
this case if other srvice is tarted, the depending service is started by
default.

No. You can stop it while OS is running. We can stop only of no other
services are dependent on this.

Why ?

In this case, there are no dependent services which are started. Hence you
are able to stop/start

Goto Start-> Administratie tools-> Services. Double click on the service and
go to the "dependencies" tab.
