REMINDER window pop-up

HELP! I have owned my hp pavilion a264w for about 4 months, and this problem started about 3 weeks ago, that I think is generated by Windows XP and it is DRIVING ME CRAZY! (It happens even when my internet is off, so hence my judgement on xp.)
I keep getting this POP UP window about every 15 minutes that I can only close by alt-f4, that says (header) REMINDER (then the date and time), but does not have any kind of reminder in the body, but just one of those explorer type error messages that says 'this page cannot be displayed' but my only option is to close it by alt-f4, and NO OTHER WAY, or link
someone help me!!

Are you familiar with the registry? If so, you can go into the registry and
find the following key/s:

hkeycurrentuser/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run
hkeylocalmachine/software/microsoft/windows/current version/run

Look for Reminder in the right-hand pane/right-click it/click on Delete.

Or click on Start/All Programs/Startup and see if Reminder is
there/right-click it and delete it.

Not responsible for registry probs after the fact.

Sounds like spyware or some program wanting you to register.

Greetings --

Sounds like a remnant of some shareware or evaluation software
that you tried and subsequently removed. Since you can use Task
Manager to close it, you know the application's name. Simply use
MSConfig to show you where the command starting this program is
originating, so that you can permanently eliminate the source of your
irritation. Look in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start
Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start
Menu\Programs\Start Up folders, and in the system registry, primarily
in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.
