Reminder flags not REMINDING me... Why is this?

Hi there,
I have been a user of Outlook for many years.
I have found that when I set a reminder FLAG (on an email for instance) with
a date and time to remind
me, I never get reminded.
This happened in Outlook 2000,2002, XP, 2003 - well, every version that has
come out in the last 5 years.

I set the reminder flag but then when that time and date comes to pass the
reminder does not pop up.
Reminders for appointments and tasks always pop up when they are meant to...
but not FLAG based reminders on things like emails etc.

Does anyone know how I can fix this or why this might be happening? I would
dearly like to sort this out as it is a feature I "try" to use a great
deal - to no avail though.

Anybody have an idea how to resolve this?
Would certainly be nice to get this functionality working...

Are those emails in the Inbox? Outlook will only fire reminders in the
default Inbox, Calendar, Tasks or Contacts folders, in all other folders the
items only turn red when they are due. For reminders in any other folders
you would need a 3rd party addin.
