Hi folks,
I'd like to know how you can enlarge whatever it is in windows so that
it will be able to remember your set folder states when you boot up
your machine. Someone asked this same question earlier but I can't
find the response. Would appreciate getting the info again. Thanks,
Axel.

XP only remembers 400 folder views by default. To have it remember more:

First download and install the fix to make xp "remember" more than 8000
folders.

Then, in explorer, set your view as you like and go to: tools, folder
options, view tab, apply to all folders.
Also make sure to check: remember each folder's view settings.

Control Panel / Folder Options / View Check "Restore previous folder
windows at logon"

I asked the question earlier. Here is the rply I received.

While you're waiting for a better answer, here's what I've
done. I created a desktop shortcut to Windows Explorer.
In the address box I have:
C:\Windows\explorer.exe /n,/e,C:\
NOTE: There is a single blank following ".exe".
That'll do what you want. You can take this a step
farther if you want to create a shortcut for, say, Program
Files, just use the same sequence as above, but add the
name of the folder following the rightmost "\".

How do I set the Folder View in Windows Explorer so that I
can see an expanded view of the folders without having to
click and expand them manually every time I open Windows
Explorer? I did not have to do this in Windows 98, and my
other XP machine expands the C Drive folder automatically
but this XP machine does not.
