relocate user files

Gerald

Is there a way to move the WHOLE use folder to another location?
I know each folder under the username can be relocated through properties
etc, but i wanted to know if one can move the whole user to another location.
Just makes it easier than selecting each and every folder and going through
properties.

Thanks in advance

Go to Accessories, System Tools.
Run Windows Easy Transfer to save your current files and settings.
Go to Administrative Tools, Computer Management.
Open Local Users and Groups, Users.
Open Properties of your User Account.
Open Tab Profile.
Enter new Profile Path
Log on with the new user profile.
Run Windows Easy Transfer again to restore you old files and settings.

Be very cautious if you use encrypted files. You may end up without access
to your encrypted contents unless you take extra care.

Hi

Thanks for the advice. One big problem the pc i tried it on is using Vista
Home Basic and does not have "local users and groups" in computer managment.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
