reloading mouse cursors

I have a computer that appears to have corrupted mouse cursors. Does anyone
know where the mouse cursors file is and an easy way to reload it.

Thanks,
Lillie

Contol Panel > Mouse > Pointers tab

Select the cursors you want for each of the different options by pressing
browse (to C:\windows\cursors) or select a scheme from the combo box at the
top.

I replaced C:\windows\cursors, but the line is still showing up. Any other
ideas?

Could be a graphics card/driver problem...

If you're seeing a line in all your cursors, that's the most likely explanation.

When the cursor scheme is "(none)", the cursors used are stored as resources in user32.dll. You might try using System File Checker to see if that file is OK.

It would help matters, if you could explain a bit more fully what you mean
by "the line".
ie whether all the cursor images are corrupted with a line, or whether a
line follows the mouse pointer, or whether the cursor image periodically
changes to a line. This will help you to get a good response

Start > run > sfc /scannow

to run the system file checker, as Keith suggested
