reload cd

is using a reload cd the same as a clean install as there
seems to be a lot of posts about doing this.What is the
need to do this. How do i get the xp cd as this did not
come whith my system

It is as clean as you are going to get. Restore disk put loads more stuff on
your machine than just your windows.
You can do the restore and then just delete all the junk.
You are really tied to your restore disk unless you know how to extract all
drivers from the restore disk to be used with a real xp disk.
