I think some setting may have been changed when i logged onto a wireless
network. every time i try to send email now, i get a notification that
'relaying is denied'.

Relaying Denied errors usually come from trying to use an email (sending,
SMTP) server that doesn't belong to the ISP you're connected to. Most ISPs
now block relaying as its a source for Spam. These articles have more info
that applies to all email clients including Outlook Express, Outlook,
Eudora, and Netscape:

OL2000: Error Message "An unknown error was returned from the SMTP server."

Make sure you're authenticating to your outgoing server, which can be set up
on the "Outgoing Server" tab for your account.
