Yes, it is possible to re-install XP on the same computer and you can
activate it again as you did it the first time. If the activation website
says that this copy has already been activated, then you will need to call
the Toll-Free Activation number given on the website to complete the
activation.

Hello
Yes reformatting will also mean reactivating, which is not a problem, you
can activate as many times as needed, if it as been less then 120 days you
might have to do a phone activation which takes about 5 minutes, try to do
it over the internet first if it fails the do the phone thing.

Hi, Doug.

As the others said, just boot from the WinXP and follow the prompts,
including the very early one that asks if you want to repartition and/or
reformat before installing WinXP.

And you can reactivate WinXP on the same computer as many times as you like.
For the official word, see this web page:

Yes

Just like the first time. Read up at www.aumha.org/win5/a/wpa.htm - you
might want to use the hint in Format Hard disk to conserve one vote in
the matter, but unless it is under 120 days since you last did, and you
have also done other changes, it should not be needed
Is it possible to reinstall xp on the same computer?

yes. Boot the XP CD direct. Enter Setup, and after the license
agreement take New Install. When it asks you to confirm where, hit ESC;
select and delete the current partition and make a new RAW one to be
formatted at the next stage

The important point is the delete. Without that it will just go ahead
and make a new install over the top of the old one

Be sure to get the firewall enabled before you go on the net to get
updates, or you will get hit in moments by Blast or Sasser. It could
be worth getting the consolidated CD of security updates (which includes
SP1) in advance - order at
http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/cd/order.asp
