reinstalling XP

I had windows XP installed by Gateway. They supplied me
with an XP upgrade disc. Recently my hard drive had to be
reformatted. I am now unable to reinstall XP because I do
not have the code to enter. Is there anything I can do?

Have you checked on the computer case? The number may be attached to it on
the back or bottom.

On my Gateway, it's on a sticker on the SIDE cover!
(small letters....I needed a flashlight and magnifying
glass.....
