Reinstalling XP on Desktop

I have a Gateway Desktop. I have reinstalled many times without problems but
is going to be the first time I have done it with a backup drive. On the
backup drive I have installed a lot of my games. These are installed on the
backup drive but are all on my start --> programs part. My question is do I
also have to erase my backup drive and reinstall my games to keep the link or
can I leave it the way it is?

Either way, after a clean install, your going to have to reinstall your
games to get them to work.
