REINSTALLING windows 2000 pro

Hi I was reinstalling windows 2000 pro, and now the
system is asking for the file name 'ptseial.sy_' ) in
order to continue, and I can't fine this file, it say the
file is on disk 1 but I can't fine it can you tell me
where I can down load this file Thank.

Hello Costa,

I am assuming that you mean ptserial.sys. This file is a modem driver that
is provided by PCTell. You can skip it if you don't have the driver handy.
After setup is complete, you can install your modem driver after you get the
files you need from PCTell.

restart the computer and go back to the reinstalling
prosses, or where can I download this file in order to
get my pc running

It is a PCTel modem driver. I run 2ooo Pro and I've got the driver. I can email it to you and you can run you a-virus program. Once you get it, put it in a location that you can direct setup to find it.

Tanks markaz I like to have the file, but are you sure
you have ptserial.sy_ or the ptserial.sys because is not
taking the second one, the system is very clear about the
file name: 'ptserial.sy_'

Maybe if you get Robert to look in $WIN_NT$.~BT, that is where all sy_
files are kept.
