I'm trying to erase my hard drive and start over with
windows xp home edition. I had windows xp professional on
it before but it totally crashed so I installed xp home.
Now the xp isn't installing the drivers like it's
supposed to so I'd like to know how to completely erase
the c partition like fdisk for win9x. And start from
scratch. Can anyone help me?

1. Instruct your BIOS to boot from the CD drive.
2. Pop in your WinXP CD.
3. Reboot the PC.
4. When given the choice, allow drive C: to be reformatted.

I did that but it said that drive c couldn't be
reformatted because it contained files necessary files to
continue the set up
