Reinstalling locks me out of personal folders!!!

I have recentrly had to reinstall XP home from scratch and
I can now no longer access my private folders which were
designated so in the previous installation. I am using
the same licensed disk and the same usr name & password
but I can't get into my 'named' folder. Any thoughts?
