reinstalled XP after crash..new problems

I had a major crash..reformatted and reinstalled xp today..Windows loads
fine..able to get online..2 problems tho...There is no sound..shows no audio
devise when ran the sound troubleshooter...In device manager there are
several things listed under sounds...all say device is working fine...not
sure where to check for help...also the monitor won't allow me to change the
display settings for color/dpi....hope someone can help me..thanks

Install the latest drivers for the audio and video system. Download them
from the manufacturer's web site.

thanks..i am unsure of who the manufacturer is...Does Legacy sound right?
Where do I find that info.? This is driving me nuts...

You reinstall from the cd's supplied with your sys, or if a major manu eg
Dell/HP etc from their site
