Reinstalled Win XP. Can get to non-secure websites but not secure sites

I had to reinstall Windows XP because our computer was
hit by a virus a couple of weeks ago. I now can access
the internet but only non-secure sites. I am unable to
access secure sites like banks, etc.

Any ideas?
