Reinstalled Vista, can't find Outlook 07 data

Hi guys, installing SP1 killed my notebook. The technician was able to
take out the hard drive and put a new one in. The old drive has the
old data on it. However, I cannot find my previous Outlook data file.
My main email is through an Exchange server but old data has gone from
my former pop3 account.

It was quite difficult to get some of the Users/Jo data because it
seems that Vista removed this as a security feature. However, I've
managed to get some of my old app data back, just having trouble with
Outlook.

I've done a search for *.pst and *.ost files to no avail.

Is there any other search term I should try to find the data file?

Thanks in advance,
Jo

Ensure you include hidden files/folders in your search.

I've done a search for *.pst and *.ost files to no avail.

The default location for the PST is
x:\Users\{user}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook. Put that exact path
(substituting the current letter of the old drive for "x" and the real user
name for "{user}") in Windows Explorer, then click Go.

Thanks to you both for replying. I do have folders unhidden.

And Vista removed the Users/Jo folder during the crash, which is why I
was asking if any other extension types might be worth searching for.

You're out of luck, then, unless an undelete utility can find it.

So if I tried an undelete utility, what would I tell it to search
for? .ost? .pst?

OSTs don't need to be recovered because Outlook can simply generate a new one
from the server. Thus, the answer is "PST", since that's the only one left.
